keep in mind something…
I have been in and out of the trucking field for many
years. When you buy a toter,if you put it on the road,
you MUST get a D.O.T number for it,get an operating
authority in the states you intend on using it,your tag
will cost upwards of $500 per year,($750 if you want to
move for other people-FOR HIRE) Insurance is a minimum
of $200 per month, you will have to have wide load
permits on each trip approx $150, or you can get a
yearly permit for up to 12 wide, 100 feet long for $200
per year in most states, over 12 wide each move will
require a wide load permit and 1 to 2 escorts, paid by
you,It sounds nice to have your own toter, however the
fees incurred may well be worth hiring it moved unless
your going into it full time.Just moving around a huge
park, might be worth having to use to help level it, but
unless you want to run this truck to pay for it,I would
pay a bit extra and hire it moved, tied down and
leveled.I would pick up at skirting and porches. But
thats just ME.I would believe to maximise your profits,
hiring one moved would be the way to go unless you go
into the gig full time which will find you MORE
deals, and you can make money off others moving, doing
repos, and storing homes if you have the space to store
repo homes for financial institutions.I had a friend
who did this for awhile and actually did pretty well
with it.They would repo for a bank or lender, take the
home and recarpet it,clean and whatever needed done,
and sell it on their lot, move it to your lot and set
it up.There is something for a couple of oyu to
consider. The banks pay storage fees to sit on your lot.

FYI,

In case any of you are looking for something to Move HH’s, I
just happened across a MH Toter on CL at:

http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/bfs/2076693195.html

I have no connection to this poster on CL. I am just
providing a heads-up in case any of you can use the tip.
