Sounds to me like a building permit is required.Years
ago I had a house mover move a large shed to another
property.Someone blew the whistle and the town required
me to purchase an $85 permit to move it off the
property.
Just scrapped an old mobile home and put newer trailer on that lot and township is saying that i owe them $750 for the permit. What Permit? They never even came out to inspect it. Does anyone know?

its a building permit, and they have to inspect for proper installation per manufacturers instructions: blocking, level and tiedown, sewer and water connections made correctly, etc. Also, usually a separate electrical inspection is required to ensure proper connection.
Most of that 1100 is probably penalty for doing it without a permit. Suck it up, and call it lesson learned.
Municipal parasites are so starved for revenue right now they are
going to find a way to take what they can. I had an inspector drive
by one of my rentals the other day while I was changing out a
shower valve (I was at my truck with the tool box open). Long story
short I ended up having to go up to building services and get a $50
permit to install a $38 shower valve in one of my own houses. All
you can do smile and shake your head.
Actually i just got told now the permit is now 1,100 dollars, i asked them for what type of permit since the lot had a mobile home on it already. They said an inspection fee. I said no inspector ever came out. Just dont understand the township.
I always have to have a permit to move in a MH; permit is necessary to hook up power. However, $750 sounds very high. Does that include a penalty for not getting it in advance?
