Thanks Jim.

I’m in the Dallas area and here ours are in direct sequential numerical order. Guess it’s a local thing.

Generally you can find most mls listings at Realtor.com
They don’t have the same search tools asgents have for old listings. If you want a big list fast, work with an agent, or hunt and peck on your own.

This site is for HUD-owned properties in certain states. That’s pretty much it. No MLS there.

Houses on Realtor.com are assigned listting numbers in chronological order by area. While it doesn’t tell you the specific date, you can get an idea by interpolation.

Hi Gerald,

That’s not always the case. It depends on the local MLS.

Here in Houston, the MLS recently changed from assigning MLS numbers sequentially to assigning them randomly. One can no longer determine how old a listing is by its MLS number.

Here, someone with access to the MLS, such as a REALTOR® or an appraiser, can do a search for listings that are older than a specific number of days.

Since the Houston MLS is set up that way, I would suspect that there are probably other MLS systems that do the same.

Hope this helps.

Best of Success!!
