Hi Margret

I live in MA also, but it seems fruitless. MA does not have as much info as other states…

Can anyone working in Massachusetts tell me what the process is for pre-foreclosure? Do the banks have to file a “lis pendens” before the actual foreclosure? I went to my towns courthouse to try and get such a list and after going to several different offices, came up empty-handed. I also looked on line and couldn’t find anything definitive on the subject.

I would appreciate a point in the right direction.

Thank you -
Margaret

Margaret,

The info. is definately there. I go to my county courthouse weekly and get this info. Here in Hampden County (Springfield, MA) the lis pendens are listed under Order of Notice. Good luck to you.

I believe the Lis Pendens are filed in MA just like every other state. What you have to do is go to the county court house rather than the town court house.

Call the county court house and double check, I believe this is the way it is.
