The ideas behind using land trusts and or LLC’s is to add layers of anonymity and protect an investor from potential liability. There is volumes of information on this site and others like legal whiz.com, search the archives for “liability”.

I apologize if the answer to my question is located on this board, I could not find it. I went to seminar a few days ago put on by Ron Legrand’s group. They instructed not to purchase real estate in your name unless you are going to live there. They suggested using a Land Trust, or LLC to make purchases, flipping. But what they did not exlain is why? And which is better? Or benefits of each? Would someone please be so kind as to either explain, or point me in the right direction?
