Ditto that. I was going to say the same thing. The only thing I can add to Joe’s info is that I have had these installed new in several developments. The Utility company charged nothing to install them as long as we signed an agreement for a certain period of time. They are even very attractive! The only other suggestion is if mailboxes are located at the individual lots you could put lights there metered to each unit w/ photo cell. good luck (The other Karl from TN)

Can anyone suggest a wholesale lighting supplier. I am having no luck locally or on the web. We have a mobile home park that needs lighting. We are looking at 2 options.

Option 1–individual yard lights metered to each tenant. Would need 50 plus another 5 or so in some common areas and those would be metered to us.

Option 2–Line the street with about 12 post lights about 12’high with a single globe. These would be metered to us. I think the initial cost and the installation of this option will be less than option 1. Still trying to get some costs together to evaluate these options.

Anyone know of suppliers? Anyone have experience with lighting issues in your park and your opinions/suggestions please. Thank you.

I don’t know where you are but my electric utility offers something called “night watcher” lights. Basically they are street lights hung high on the main utility poles for the park. They were already here when I bought the park so I don’t know if there was an upfront charge. They are not metered but I’m charged a flat fee adjusted for hours of darkness. My park is 3.5 acres, 43 spaces and I have 7 lights and that’s adequate. The average monthly charge for electric is about $55, and they do all the maintenace, bulbs, photo switches etc. I think it’s a good deal for me. Check with your electric utility to see if some program is available through them.
