I recently attended a convention where the speaker said if you are in PA you have to file the trustees name on the land trust with Harrisburg. The speaker did say you could make the trustee a personal trust, but does anyone in PA have further information on this? Will Harrisburg contact the trust asking for it or do you have x amt of time to file it?

Your trustee can be a company, such as an LLC.

Then you are asking for trouble. The safest way to protect your trust and
your property is to use a corporate trustee such as Equity Holding
Corporation, whom I have used for more than 10 years with never a
problem.

That is simply the non-profit trustee I have used. I’m sure there are many
good ones. The point is that you should never act as trustee yourself or
appoint someone who is not bonded and who knows what he/she is
doing. What happens if your friend dies and title is in his name? That’s
just one protection investors seldom consider.
