I just placed an order at Lowes for a small kitchen. Not including the counter top, it came to a little over $1,600. I will have Lowes deliver them and my contractor will install. American Woodmark. Seem to be fairly decent quality. They have three colors: maple, oak and white. They are already assembeled.
I took the room measurements and a Lowes guy designed the layout on their computer.

I have a house that I’m about to take Sub2. Purchasing for $195k no money
down, ARV is approximately $225k. Plan to sell on L/O for $235k.
It’s a 1978 vintage, with virtually no updates. Has a very small galley kitchen
with cabinets that need work.
I would normally just paint the cabinets white, but the seller has already
painted the entire main floor white, so I don’t really want to do that.
I have seen people on the site talk about $3k to $5k to replace kitchen
cabinets. Since this is a small kitchen, I assume that I will fall on the low end
of that. Even so, that doesn’t seem like much money.
Where can I find cabinets that cheap? How much should I plan for installation
(not something I am capable of doing)?
Also, may be cheaper to simply paint them white as mentioned above, and
repaint the living room and family room walls a different color.
If you are in the Denver Metro area, try Treehouse Kitchen & Bath.
They have two locations - one on S. Broadway and one one E.
Arapahoe Rd. We’ve probably bought 50 kitchens from them over
the years - their prices and quality are better than Home Depot or
Lowes. Installation, if you need it, is about $30 a cabinet.

Hey Phil,
Don’t worry! Cabinets are a piece of cake! Just go down to your home depot, or grab some graphing paper and sketch out your kitchen. Then plan what you want placed where. Then go to home depot and get the necessary packages. Bring them home, assemble them. Look for the studs on your walls with a stud finder and then start installing them. This is roughly how its done but you can do this on your own if it makes sense that is.
