if the lien predates your purchase of the property, call the title company who issued policy when you bought. Let them sort it out, and let them get the thing removed.

I have a judgement on my home , which is a Co-Op, it is over ten years old and is from a bank which no longer operates, I cannot find out anything about this , the bank which took over the operation of the other bank tells me they have no knowledge of this matter. How do I remove this judgement from the title , it is not on my credit report,I live in NY

I’d recommend your paying a lawyer a few dollars to research and see if the J is still valid as lien, as they can and do expire (as liens), if not renewed periodically.
Many lawyers won’t follow up on obtaining a J by “abstracting” it in the deed records…and if it’s NOT recorded, it may never have been a lien on the RE.
