Has anyone dealt with a John T Reed. His website basically bashes all the realestate guru’s and says he is honest and has the best material.
Would appreciate any comments.
Thanks

Thanks for all the info. I do not know if he is good or not but he definately is unpleasant, given his response to one of my questions.
He lost a potential client

John Reed has some good books, however his actual real estate experience is next to nothing. On his own website, he admits to once being a RE agent and that he has only owned 10 different properties over the last 30 years (2 of which were his personal residences). And the only thing he has owned since 1992 is his own home. He also goes into a lengthy explanation bashing everyone else to justify that he is a real estate “expert”, but you be the judge.

Walter,
Matthew Chan is basically correct about Jack Reed’s attitude. His arrogance is incredible, and it sometimes dampens the effect of his writing.
I bought “How to Buy Real Estate for at least 20% below Market Value,” and there are ideas in there that I’ve never seen written or heard of anywhere else. I am actually using one for a transaction soon.
But they’re not his ideas; they’re taken from the experiences of others. He’s just a reporter, who thinks that most of the REI people are crooks. Even has the gall to write about honesty and political figures like Rush Limbaugh in the same sentence!
How’s that for arrogance?

Bought quite a few of his books a couple of months back. Returned 3 of them since the information were from the 1980’s which he is selling as new. Currently under credit card dispute since he chooses not to respond.
As a matter of fact, they were starting to yellow. If you intend to buy from him be very careful… I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt in the beginning… but not anymore. He is talk and out to make money but at the expense and bashing nearly all his “competition”. Basically, seems like a bitter old man mad at the world…
His writing style is a “holier than thou” attitude and forever preaching his ethics. You will need to get past his writing style to get at his gold nuggets of info. (Yes, there are some useful info…)
