Joe Kaiser "celebrity chat" last night - Posted by Ron (MD)

Posted by JT-IN on September 21, 2002 at 13:39:22:

The day that it was posted… and couldn’t believe my eyes. I was shocked and embarrassed for the person who wrote it, as they apparently do not possess the skill/emotions to do so for themselves…

Can you believe it…? I wouldn’t think of talking to a Dog that way, let alone an esteamed and valued contributor such as Ben(NJ), but unfortunately some folks haven’t quite mastered that yet.

A new Orifice may have been too kind… Hope all is well with you, Counselor.

Joe Kaiser “celebrity chat” last night - Posted by Ron (MD)

Posted by Ron (MD) on September 20, 2002 at 16:41:42:

I attended Joe’s 3-hour chat last night.

He’s probably the participant/author I’d most like to know personally. He “chats” like he writes (here and in his courses)…direct, unvarnished, and very, very smart.

It was a great opportunity to hear him talk “off the cuff”. Thanks, Joe and JP.

A couple unsolicited suggestions (sorry, I can’t help myself): I almost missed it because you didn’t post reminders that he’d be there. A daily post a few days before would help absent-minded folks, like me. Second, you did a (very) brief commercial message about two hours into it. That was midnight here in Baltimore. Next time, I’d do the promotional reminders at the 1-, 2-, and 3-hour points (if anybody has the stamina to repeat the 3-hour exercise).

I hope you have others planned. I few suggestions that you might not think of: David Alexander on bandit signs (which seem to be among the most effective marketing tools), Hal Roark on Section 8 rentals (he knows more about them than anyone I know), John Hyre on taxes and REI (good teaser for his coming course, which I’m looking forward to), Jim Piper (who many of us miss and would just like to hear from again, if only for a few hours).

I’ve already got a couple of Kaiser’s courses, but was reminded last night of how much he has to offer, so I’m ordering a third. Let’s see, how many deals do I need to get to pay for a $169 course?

Thanks again.

Last Night’s Chat Format Needs some work - Posted by Martin Greenberg

Posted by Martin Greenberg on September 20, 2002 at 21:47:08:

I was very angry that it took half an hour to get into the chat last night. Upon finally getting into the room I found the frequent coming and going was distracting.

I asked sever questions to Joe and J.P. and none of them were answered. Joe didn’t want to give much away so I didn’t learn much. I left the chat with the sense of being let down.

This was the first of several guest chat scheduled so I hope the next few sessions will run more smoothly.

Hi Ron,

It was nice to “see” you again last night.

Update your email address for the Insider’s Club. I emailed everyone a reminder late Monday. Also, Insiders were getting a 15% discount on all Joe’s stuff. Expired yesterday at midnight.

…And That Admittance Fee Too! - Posted by Walt Carey

Posted by Walt Carey on September 21, 2002 at 09:22:39:

I didn’t make it in to hear Joe but c’mon now…you paid HOW MUCH to hear an experienced investor talk? Joe’s take on REI is cutting edge stuff folks. Heck, he’s got me switching my marketing around 360 degrees for next year. Take whatever FREE tidbits you can get, and run w/ it.

If you feel he’s holding back on some of his cutting edge stuff here’s a suggestion: call him up and ask him to fly to your town and show you how he does it. Granted it’ll probably cost you 25 big ones and he’ll probably make you sign a non-compete for the SEA/TAC area but you’ll get those tidbits he’s holding back I can just bet!

Lets get REAL folks. Joe’s done the chat room thing yrs before. Getting him to do it again was a major kudo for J.P. and Terry in my opinion. And, you get a transcript of it in a couple weeks to go over it again and again? How much did it cost you again? Yeah, that Kaiser and those Vaughans! Shameful people!

I have to agree - Posted by Vlad

I have to agree. I appreciate Joe’s spending his time, but I can’t say I learned that much new either. And I think the format was at fault.

The chat was being advertised as a substitution for a real conversation. It was hardly so. And it was not just because my questions were left unanswered - I understand there were a lot of them and he couldn’t physically reply to all. But some of what he said required clarification and additional, even small, answers would help, but it was impossible to post a question for them. I think lots more can be learned, from Joe in this case, via the regular message-board postings.

I remember reading a transcript of Steve Cook’s chat, and it looked like it resembled real chat and not just posting questions and answers. I agree that it may be somewhat chaotic, but this is how I, personally, would like to see “next best thing to a real conversation.”

Again, my big thank for the efforts and I only hope that my criticism would be considered constructive.

Vlad.

P.S. By the way, I had no trouble getting in and out of the room.

J.P.-

I scrolled down and read that you mentioned the transcript will be available in a couple of weeks. No reason to respond. Thanks just the same. -Glen

Hello J.P.,

Are the live chat conversations like the one with Joe Kaiser archived? I’d like to read the live chat with Joe if it’s available, as I missed it. I did get an email about it though.

Thanks, Glen

JP,

My Insider Club email address is and old one…one that I don’t check often (tired of the spam). I did just look and saw your email. I will update it.

Thx.

Walt’s Right. As is JT - Posted by phil fernandez

Hi Walt,

Nice seeing you on the board again. I agree with you. It’s free information from one of the best. Just take bits and pieces from Joe’s chatroom discussion and you’ll be way ahead. I always have trouble digesting so much info, so I take the pieces that I can insert in my everyday investing and leave the rest for later. Too much info at the same time can be a hinderence too.

Joe has many cutting edge courses out there, Totally Dominate Your Foreclosure Market Place, his Tired Landlord lease option course etc. and others that will answer further questions and map out a gameplan. His courses are very inexpensive. Buy a couple of them.

All in all, the Vaughan’s have come through again by getting Joe Kaiser into the chatroom. For that we all should be thankful.

Some of these folks think that one should be able to lay them on their side, and pour this RE knowledge in their ear while they munch on a Bon-Bon… Oh, and make it snappy, will you… I don’t want to be inconvenienced too much.

I have to laugh (and shake my head) at some of these pleas for “hurry up and help me now”… fast!!!

Hope all is well for Walt in NC…

One Idea… - Posted by JT-IN

Posted by JT-IN on September 21, 2002 at 13:30:23:

One IDEA Garnered from reading the Chat for the entire 3 hour period, would have made it time well spent. In this day and age of “feed me now” demands, too darned many folks just don’t understand what it REALLY takes to acquire the knowledge and skills that it takes to endure this business successfully… day in and day out.

However, I was pleased to have caught the last hour of the chat, and refreshed a few ideas, doing so. Thanks JoeK.

JT-IN

PS. Phil: Hope RE is treating you as you deserve… Fantastic! Good to hear from you too.

recently in response to one of my tax lien posts I received this verbatim message:

“Details please (and keep it brief)”

That guy caught me in a bad mood and instead of a tax lien education he received a new orifice (at no charge)! LOL
