I am currently working as a Real Estate developer for a firm in Miami, overseeing and building residential projects for the owner and with the owner’s money. I have never done a deal on my own. I don’t know where to begin as far as going on my own. Where do I find investors? How do I set it up so that we both make money? HELP!!!

the weekly luncheon every Wed. in very good, just pay for lunch. 12-1pm 950 N.W. LEJUENE RD. IN THE LOBBY RESTAURANT.

Jessie - I’m an investor in SoFla. I agree with an earlier post that you should attend the local real estate meetings. Very informative and great for networking. In fact, there is 1 in Miami, 2 in Lauderdale (1 of which meets twice a month) and 1 in Boca. There’s also a recetly formed weekly lunch group that meets every Wed in Miami. The Broward County Investors Association meets tonight at 7pm at the Holiday Inn at Sunrise and University (Plantation) and the Dade Real Estate Investors Association meets tomorrow at 7pm in Miami at the Doubletree Hotel on the bay right off 395.

Maybe you could try attending one of the local REIA meetings to network with other investors. The Dade Real Estate Investors group meets every third Wednesday of the month – http://www.dreia.org. The next Dade meeting is this Wed - 01/15/03.
There is also a good meeting in Broward on the first Wednesday of the month – http://www.breia.net

Sounds like you have an advantage that most people don’t have when getting into real estate. A FREE (in fact your getting paid) education. If I were you I would be paying VERY close attention to what this investor is doing. Try to figure out what works best and what doesn’t. Then copy the things that work best. AND of course your in the best spot for getting an “online education”. This site is like the bible of real estate investing. I suggest you spend a lot of time reading posts, reading “success stories” and all other parts of this board. You will not learn everything overnight. It is just like any other education it takes time and patience.
