I love the posts on this board. If I find one that pertains to my interests, I print it out and read, highlight, and reread it several times. I love having real life examples to study.

Trying to figure where I fit in here.
Often people approach me asking me about this technique or that technique. Where did I come up with this or that.
Simple answer. I learned the technique from someone else. Keep your eyes and ears open.
I’ve been in the business for over 20 years. I still buy courses. In fact I have bought three courses from this site in the last month. If I am buying courses, you guys should be buying courses.
Be a sponge and absorp all of the creative real estate ideas you can.

I try to find the best softwares and/or write my own. I look for appraisals, and any other income property analysis I can find and/or trade for…
I basically have a degree in finance/real estate and have participated in RE for 10 years…

Phil,
I can relate to what you are saying. I have been reading more books then ever. In fact in the last 3 months I have probably read more books then I have in my entire life. I crave more knowledge everyday and take it in as I go.

Weel said Phil, Just this week I seemed to be having some problems developing my lines of credit, got on the chat room and right there was the experience of Karp and JPIPer. Boy the people right here on this board are great. Also if anyone is having problems talk to other people. Most people want to help. I said somthing to my acct. this week about trying to get my line set up and hea told me he new a couple of bankers that might be just right for this deal. If you are having problems with a deal you will be surprised what happens when you talk to other people about your problems. Sponge on Phil!

I totally agree. I do not think anyone can be sucessful in real estate investing if they don’t read. Seminars and chat room, bulletin boards are great. But the nuances of the business must be absorbed and pondered over. Reading a book, highlighting passages and re-reading the book immediately and then again later. "Set"s the information. Some books you will keep and some you will pass on to others. You will find ideas that fit your stage of life and investing and you will find ideas that you choose to ignore or follow up on at some later date-if ever.
Take inexpensive news letters. Reading a person’s words gives you insight into their character and helps you determine if this is someone you really want to listen to.
HAVE FUN AND REMEMBER TO KEEP A POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE
GOOD LUCK
