Hmm,
The thief would have to time it just right and know the homeowner’s arising time. Most push mowers last about 45 min.-hr. on one tank.

I heard this story today. A man lost power due to hurricane
Irene. So he goes and gets his generator, chains it to a tree
and fires it up. When he gets up in the morning he has no
lights but still hears the generator running outside his
window. When he goes out to investigate he finds that someone
has stolen his generator and left a push lawn mower running
in its place. Never underestimate the ingenuity of a crook!
