An “Easy” way is to find a good inspector, and pay them to inspect one of your houses.
Then you stay with him step by step and ask a ton of questions. About his forms, what he looks at, what is the criteria he is looking for etc… talk and communicate and make the conversation friendly.
When I did that I learned a lot about what I had been missing.
One of the best $250 I ever spent.
