I’m considering the purchase of a fire-damaged SFR as a rehab project. The homeowner’s insurance carrier I use for my other properties won’t insure it until after it is rehabbed.

Is there a certain kind of basic coverage I should be asking for while the rehab work is in progress? If so, can anyone recommend an insurance carrier?

This will be my first fire-damaged rehab project, so any other advice on the subject would be appreciated.

Check into a Builders Risk policy. I get mine through a local agent. Underwriter is LLoyds of London
