Holders for “we buy houses” signs - Posted by At Home with Lowes

I have my “we buy houses” signs but don’t know where to buy the stuff to stick them on so I can put them in the ground. Can I get them from Lowes? Home Depot?
Thanks for the help -

I bought wood stakes from Lowes and wood glue. The wood glue sticks really well, but the stakes are REALLY hard to get into the ground!! Maybe Lukes staple idea is better!
I know you can buy the H stakes at bandit signs website (they’re about double the price though!).

ahwl,
Someone else told you that these are called, “H” stakes, or metal step stakes.
Most sign companies sell them, from $1/stake to $5/stake.
or.
You can realize, these are simply cut pieces of metal block mesh.
Lowes may not carry it, as I’ve never seen it there.
However, Home Depot, in certain parts of the country where concrete block construction is common do.
If yours does not, they can order it.
Last I lokked (it has been a while), these sold in 8 foot sections, for a little over $1.50
From that, use bolt cutters, and make 4 stakes per peice, way cheaper than the sign companies, who do the same thing, just cut it, and sell to you.
or
For cheap stakes, goto either place, Lowes or Home Depot, and get a couple bundles of 3 foot ‘contractor stakes’, these are wood, with sharp tips cut.
Then, get a box of roofing nails with plastic caps, 1 inch is fine.
Attach signs to stakes with these, and drive them into the ground with a hammer.
Attach signs to stakes BEFORE pounding into the ground.
HTH,
Jim FL

Also there is a sign stapler out there that is pretty neat. It’s basically a long heavy duty stapler that you can use to staple signs way up high on telephone poles or other things like that. This way they stay up a little longer because it’s not as easy for the city to “recycle” them for you.
I just found it. It’s at www.signstapler.com

I’ve looked all over and have had the best luck at specialty sign shops.

They are called metal step stakes or H frames if that is the kind you are looking for.
