HELP!! - Posted by Jason

I am an R E investor and visit this site often, but this question is for a very ill friend of mine. He has been fighting cancer for some time now and has just come out of remission and is seeking treatment with the outcome unknown. He has a considerable estate with investments and other holdings valued in the millions and is in desperate need of proper estate planning to make sure that everything is set up properly. He wants to give alot to charity. I am familiar with Jay Mitton, have his course from 2002 and tried to track his people down, but have been told he is retired and keep getting stopped by the sales people trying to sell me a asset protection “packet” thru customer service. We are looking for someone/a company like Mr. Mitton’s that is comparable to him. My friend needs to see a good asset protection attorney who knows CRT’s and the like with urgency!! He does not need to buy a do it yourself kit, especially with hundreds of thousands at stake and pecious time evaporating. Can anyone recommend some one in the US, or preferably near my friend in St. Louis, Mo.?
Thank You,

Mitton’s stuff is good, though I disagree with the promotion of limited partnerships over LLC’s, among other things. You need local help to conform with local laws. I’d imagine that a city the size of St. Louis would have plenty of such planners.
