1986 in-laws gave us money to buy home and they were to be the mortage holders. They heared we are getting divorce and to stop me for getting 50/50 I was served with papers for forclosure on the home due to non-payment. Husband took care of payments. Husband refuses to get loan to pay the money. What do I do? I have 20 days.

This is a little confusing. If the husband “took care of payments” (I’m asumming this to mean “paid them”) then how can you be in foreclosure for “non-payment”.
Outside of that, do you want to live in the house or are you looking for the cash that the house may bring you if you are forced to sell it.
Who’s name is on the deed ?

My husband was making payments to my father-law so I was under the impression, but now due to the fact we are getting a divorce. My father-in-law and husband are putting the house into forclosure as a plot to make sure I do not end up with the house or get any equity from it. I talked with my husband to try and get him to get a loan to pay off any money from my father-in-law but he is reufsing. My name and my husband’s name appears on the deed. But in 1998 my husband got a second mortgage with a mortgage company and than his dad and him decided that the father-in-law would pay off the second mortgage company to save all the money we would pay in interest. I never know we got a second mortage, I was under the impression that we got a loan from his dad and we had paid his dad in full years ago. Now I learned that was not true and that my husband and father made an agreement about our house without my knowledge.
