ed,
this had nothing to do with me wanting to eat at finer restaurants. i live here, i can eat at other places anytime i want to ;-). i just simply thought of those posts, where people complained of being ‘stranded’ at a hotel in atlanta in the middle of nowhere. i thought, since the workshop starts on friday, that people may want to get together beforehand and maybe see some other things about atlanta.

Michaela,
It’s great to see your enthusiasm for the lender’s workshop. I would like to warn you however, that the majority of the participants attending the lender’s workshop would not have a car. When interviewing the attendees we have told them how to take the shuttle from the Airport to the Hotel and that if they wanted to sight see Atlanta, to do it after the workshop.
Also, if you do have dinner at another location with the new friends you will meet from the lender’s workshop, try and make it back to the bar at the hotel. New relations and Networking has been customary at the lender’s workshop.
Because the participants are experienced Investors, The Networking and Camaraderie environment becomes intoxicating. Looking forward to meeting you. You have 56 posts on the finance board as I am making this post and have been a good contributor to CREonline. Don’t think that your efforts and energy goes unnoticed, you have made your contribution in helping others and I want to Thank you.

redd,
whoa, you’re flying here early. you must have friends, that you’re visiting.
you’re the only one,t hat contacted me. i had thought about thursday night,b ut ed, made a good point. i didn’t realize, that people were meeting on thursday evening, so it would be better to hang around the hotel that evening, to network.

Michaela,
I can understand you wanting to eat at a finer restaurant than the Hotel provides. I’ve had dinner at Morton’s and know that Atlanta has some fine dining. My only suggestion is after dinner, swing by the hotel bar and take advantage of getting to know the people that you’re going to spend 3 days with.

ed,
you’re right. i did know, that people wouldn’t have a car. just thought, that, depending on how many people wanted to do it, i could either put them in my car or if too many, a bunch could take a cab.
i’ve seen posts before on the board, asking, if the convention could be held somewhere else, other than atlanta or somewhere more central, since people were tired of being in the airport hotel with nothing else to do around there.
