Sounds like it might work. Will try it out this weekend. Thanks

I built a wheelchair ramp at front door of mobile home that I need to use for mother but I can’t figure out how to go over the lip of the door frame for easy outdoor access. It’s about 3" high.
The door has to close and if I build an incline it would have to be set back far enough for the weight of the chair and would have to be screwed down in order to go over the door frame right? Or can I somehow make something portable that I could fold up when not in use.Not sure how to do this.
I’ve done several home projects but this one has me stumped.
Thanks for any help anyone has to offer.

could you “split the difference” by putting a section of 2 x4 inside and maybe outside the doorsill? that would make you going from the floor up to 1.5 inches high then to the 3 inch high sill, starting the wheel up for you to get over the sill (think… a miniature step)

if you did not mind taking up a little more floor space, you could put a 1x2 before the 2x4… then you would go 3/4 inch up from floor, to 1 1/5 inches above the floor, to the 3 inch sill…

you would screw the wood directly to the flooring…

trying this is fairly easy… and if it did not work, all you are out is a couple of pieces of wood, and patching a few holes in the flooring…

I like low risk project ideas lol
