I was wondering if it is hard or illegal to get my credit built up and buy things using my tax ID instead of using my ssc# this guy was telling me that if I would set up my tax ID# I can began building credit using it instead of my ssc#. He said on the business application it only ask for you tax ID# not your ssc# I own a eighteen wheeler so I am a business owner but never did file my tax ID# I don’t mean to sound dum but I don’t want to break the law either.

Tron,
It is legal only if you are building credit under your business name. Only then can you use your tax id. But if you are doing it to build your personal credit, then you have to use your social security #.
