General Steps for creating an LLC - Posted by Garrett Deacon

Hi,

Did some searching on this site and cannot find any document on the actual mechanics of creating an LLC. I know it can be different from state to state but there most be some similarityes. Or if anyone lives in NC that can tell me the steps even better.

When I look at the Seceraty of State website I see several forms that must be filed but not sure what comes first. (ie do I request a name search before filing my application?) Is there a boiler plate document I can use as a basis for an operating agreement?

I know there are some courses available for this subject but I am on a budget and really can’t spend the money at this time.

Thanx in advance.

You can go to the library and get a book called Form Your Own LLC by Mancus or other similar book if you are tight on budget.

What I’ve done in the past is lookup different incorporation web sites and call them up. They will answer a lot of your questions for free. Once site that I’ve called is http://www.llc.com - 877-256-6114. They even promote to give them a call and talk to an LLC formation specialist. Hope this helps
