Yup, spends the same though. Didn’t hurt to ask, did it?

Free credit reports from all 3 bureaus - Posted by Kevin

Does anyone know if there’s a site offering free credit reports from all 3 credit bureaus? If not, I would still be interested in the least expensive one.
Thanks.
Kevin

I read a book published by NOLO that says if you live in certain states you are intitled to a free credit report once a year. I can’t remember all the states that apply but you may be able to look it up on their website nolo.com. I think it’s a book about dealing with debt problems or bankruptcy. Hope this helps.

privacyguard.com offers a free 2-month trial where you can get 3-bureau reports. I signed up for it, but never cancelled the trial. I’ve heard it’s a pain to cancel, and it’s only like $120 a year or something like that. Not a high price to pay, when you consider you can do a full, 3-bureau report as often as you like, every day for a year if you want, when they cost about 30 bucks on average. They probably count on people like me who are too lazy to cancel, LOL. Oh well, I figure it’s a small price to pay for credit security, an area people all too often neglect. In fact, just last night, I pulled all 3 again, and can tell you exactly what’s on all three of my reports, as of yesterday, including the scores (did you know it is different at all 3 bureaus?) The whole credit scoring system is a mess, but until it gets fixed, this is about the best you can do, to stay on top of it.

Eric,
I subscribed to the service for the two month trial period, and it worked very well. I called just before my two month trial period was ending to cancel, and they offered me an $80 credit to apply to the $120 annual fee. I figured keeping the service for $40 bucks a year was an offer too good to pass up. I have had absolutely no problems dealing with privacyguard. A great service, highly recommend it.

If I may chime in as an addition to Eric’s response, I have also subscribed to the mentioned services and intend to keep it.
The self pulled/printed reports could be used a form of a prequal with a lender. It won’t be a substitute for the lender pulling your report, but at least you can establish verifiable criteria.
Just a thought…

thanks for your response, and the info. I called them, and they made me the same offer (surprise!), but they said it was in COUPONS - is that the same way they did it with you?
