My wife and I are wanting to start flipping properties in West LA, we are both
26. I am a carpenter who works for cash so I don’t have any record of income
and my wife is an aspiring actress (no income yet). For the last 3 years we
have baby-sat in exchange for our housing. Can anyone give us advise on
where to go, or how to get investors/loans?

I would wholesale houses. no money needed. you put a house under contrac to buy and then sell it for more and kepp the difference. this is how many or most start.

Listen to Wayne. Educate yourself first before jumping in.
Let me start you off with a book. Purchase “Flipping Properties”–Bronchick/Dahlstrom. You can pick it up in a bookstore or amazon for under $20.00.
This will be a good head start in your education process.

Hi!..Don’t worry about what other people say…but if you want to start doing this business for “REAL” Go to the book store there are plenty to read,read is free or if you like the book buyit…I’m new in this too and I am trying to get my hands on any book a can afford…and I come to this site to get advice wich is very helpful and if you have no money to start flipping is the good way…but you have to read a LOT to get well education on the business…If you somebody that is doing flipping ask for advice…Don’t forget to go to the book store or the library!!!..is cheaper…good luck

How much education do either of you have outside of your non-occupations? What do you know about REI and flipping properties? Do you realize that once you enter this “game” you will have to pay taxes? This country does not operate like you think. Last question I promise. Think now, would you lend money to a computer geek wanting to do carpentry after he asks you where to buy a hammer? If you are serious, start reading books on the subject and also continue reading this site. A course or two on flipping will work wonders as well. That’s all I want to say for now and boy could I go on. Anyway, I’m sure that others will add to your post. Some will be telling you what you really do not want to hear. Listen well, their education levels and abilitites are second to none! I know. I have had the pleasure of meeting a lot of them personally.
