Frank: I don’t know what state you are in, so I am not sure what kind of foreclosure you are talking about. But the owner of that property is listed with your county’s tax assessor. Find out if it is/was the son. And start looking for him. You should be able to look up recorded documents at your county recorder to find out about any liens on the property. And you should be able to look up any filings with the court. Once you find out who owns the property, there are ton of tools to find people, including hiring someone. Feel free to email me for more resources if you are interested.
I’m writing, in hopes someone will have some idea of where I can start to find the owners of a property. The house is going to auction and I would like to contact the owners to purchase the property from them before the house goes to auction. The information I’ve gotten from neighbors is that the lady who bought the house has passed away, and her son got the house. He lived there awhile and is now gone. What type of information can I ask the representing Law Office for if anything? Can they give me any information and will they even if they can? Can I use the case number to get information from the courts? I could get a great deal on this property if I can find the owner. Not much fun searching, but I’ll keep at it. Any help or ideas is appreciated.
Try contacting a title company. Their customer service department should be able to give you the owners information. You just need the address of the property.
