Finding/Pulling Comps - Posted by Nichole

Join your local REIA, and ask what others are doing. I know a lot of people use zillow, but I have found it to frequently comp very low. PCREIA (my local REIA) hooked up with a local title company to offer exactly what realtors use for free to all members. It is far better than zillow, BOA, and Homeradar combined, which is what I used to use. Best wishes!

I’m hoping someone can humor me by helping me out with a newbie question. Is there a way for me to pull comps on a property without using a real estate agent?

For amusement purposes only:

I would use something a little more reliable before actually making an offer.

Cheers

Nichole,

Title Companies (speak with customer service dept.), First American
and Dataquick has CDs and access to their database, but these are not
inexpensive options.

The cheapest (usually free, if they think they will get future business),
are the title companies.

Yep, Zillow doesn’t seem very reliable. I think either realtors are putting fake street addresses in their listings (so regular people can’t look it up), or zillow just isn’t for my area yet. My house doesn’t even show up.
