Whatever you do, do it quickly. The time that you “buy” might get very expensive, because once the f/c gets to the attorney stage, fees and costs get added on and a $2,500 arrearage can become $4,000 (or more) overnight.

FHA Foreclosure in NC - Posted by Robby (ATL)

I need some info on the time frame for a foreclosure process in North Carolina. My mother is on the verge of one right now, I have the money to bring her current ( you’d think she would have come to me sooner) but would like to buy myself a little time. This has not gone to the attorney’s yet, it is still with the lender (FHA). I have saved a few homes from foreclosure in GA, but never in NC and a little background info would be nice.

Also, why does it seem so hard to refi a FHA loan. Any suggestions?
