One possibility is to pawn material items. You mention having a free and clear car. I hear ads for “auto pawn.” Could that work where you are?

Or sell items at a garage sale or local flea market. If you have enough items, you could easily clear over a thousand bucks in the next couple of weeks.

Any possibility to get the former occupants to contribute to the repairs?

How about people who know and trust you: family, neighbors, friends, fellow churchmembers, employer, former employer, fellow employees, etc. Then, through an introduction by one of the above, people with extra money to invest.

Do you have life insurance with cash value against which you can borrow?

Do you have a handyperson who might work for partial payment now and the rest later? Might appreciate getting a chunk of cash just before Christmas. With interest on his “loan” to you.

Can you do some of the work, get friends or relatives to help you to reduce the expense?

Fast Cash Short Term Loan - Posted by Michele

TOO Long story short… my L/O tenants were evicted and in the interim trashed my place. They did some extensive damage. I am cash poor right now with money tied up in another property with a sale pending. I have to get the place fixed before some opportunist breaks in and does more damage. I have already put all of the cash in my checking account into this place and will soon not be able to pay my bills.

Home equity loan will take too long. HFC and American General won’t do it because my debt to income is too high (atleast until the other pending sale comes through). Payday cash advance’s will only loan up to $500.

I am looking for another source that may be able to give me a short term loan.

I can repay the loan from my 401k account. I plan to take out a loan from my 401k to repay the money but it takes up to three weeks to process. I also have a car that is paid for.

I would be willing to secure the loan and am open to any terms. I can repay the loan in 30 days.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks.

Oh yes, do you get credit card solicitations which you have been throwing away? Could you activate one of those?
