Have her sign a quitclaim deed to holder of future interest/family member. The two estates will merge–ending the life estate, then buy from the family member. Confirm with your attorney.

I am buying a property from a family member that was left to them in a will a couple years back. The woman that was left living in the house had a life estate to live there for as long as she wanted and moved out last summer. What needs to be done to remove the life estate from the equation (She will gladly assist if documents need signing)?
