We purchased our home over 2 yrs ago which has a fenced back/side yard. Our neighbors are selling thier home and the new buyers are having the land surveyed. The surveyor has marked our property stating that the property line is about 6inches on the inside of our side fence.
The fence has been in place long before we purchased the home. Is there a statute of limitations on encroachment issues? While the encraochment issue is news to me there is a possibility that the original owners of the “home for sale” were aware of the encroachment all along?
Any thoughts or advice appreciated.

What does the survey at the time you purchased the home indicate? Also, take a look at the title policy and see if makes mention of it.
