I live in Toronto and am wondering the same thing. Supposedly it is supposed to work, with a few minor adjustments to tax laws, government programs, etc… I haven’t bought a property myself yet, but have read everything over a couple of times. I would like some personal contact about the course to know that it really works myself so I have some more security.

I think this question has been asked several times on this newsgroup before. I don’t think it has ever been answered to anyone’s satisfaction.
Perhaps, we should create a Sub-Group called “Canadians Only” or something, where we can discuss C.Sheets/etc… and how it works in Canada. Anyone interested?

I am from Winnipeg and have had the course for about four months. I have just finished it and am very excited about getting started but I am not sure about the legalities of useing this coures in canada. I would like to stay in contact with other cdn’s who are trying to do this. CMHC seems to keep a very close eye on things!!

I’m with you on that! We’ve just purchased Carleton Sheets stuff and are looking forward to doing it. We live in Winnipeg, and the market is hot! We’re looking forward to doing this (Sheets) but I agree, the “Does it work in Canada” has not been answered to anyone’s satisfaction. I appreciate our friends south of the border encouraging us northerners, but we Cdns need to hear from other Cdns how has it worked for you?

I own a mortgage banking company in the Midwest of the good old usa. Carlton Sheets can work in Canada. the problem is that most canadians are not as free wheeling as these americans are or as enterpenurial.Because of this real estate is not bought and sold the same as it is in the usa. I can remember back in the 60s my father buying and selling farms where he either had the owner finance the deal or he fianced it on the sale. You are in for some hard sledding but it can be done. The big problem is educating the sellers in your area. In the rental business carlton sheets works better because of the higher realestate prices and rents.
