I recommend that you go a small step further and purchase the John Hyre “Quickbooks for Real Estate” book, which comes along with templates, spreadsheets, etc.
I’m still (slowly) incorporating his format changes however I must tell you that everything that I’ve seen so far is excellent.
He occassionally posts on this board so you may get a sample of his wisdom. He also occassionally does live training.
Try Googling for his website to buy his very affordable products.
Hello out there on CREOnline. I have a quick question. I am not too sure if this matter has ever been addressed on these forums, due to its simplicity. But here goes. Does anyone have a sheet list of the expenses incurred while owning an apartment building with 64 units (8 apartments per floor x 8 floors in the building). You know; like subtracting mgmt, insurance, mortgage payments, repairs, etc. and ALL of the costs associated with owning an apartment building. Especially one in the NYC area. If there are any investors out there that have compiled a REAL list, that will be GREATLY appreciated.

Hello Christopher,
Generally, an Annual Property Operating Data form (APOD) is a primary tool for use with income-producing properties. Such forms are available in any number of real estate publications, and good chance you may be able to purchase one at your local board of Realtors, or local apartment owners association, as well.
