Eric,
Go to the Dept. of Housing and Community Development. They regulate Mobile Homes in California.
Ask for the book, “Occupational Licensing Examination Study Book for Manufactured Housing, Mobilehome, Commercial Coach Dealer and Salesperson License Examinations”. This book should cost you around $11.
According to their rules, if you sell ONE mobilehome for a profit, you need a license. This will cost $1,300 for each two year period, plus $100 to sit for the exam (each time if more than once is necessary), plus about $600 for the courses needed to “prepare” you for the exam.
Most businesses in California require some kind of license, and this is no different . . . just another cost of doing business here.
Luck,
Brad
