Your contract should cover problems like this. Have you spoken with your landlord to see if you could go month to month until your closing? Generally landlords will do this, sometimes at a higher rate, unless they have already committed to new tenants or unless you have not been a good tenant.
we signed a contract to purchase a house. Our original closing date was supposed to be on November 1st. The sellers said that they couldnt close until November 15th because the owners of the house that they are buying cant get out until then. Now they are saying that they can’t close until November 27th for the same reason. We are currently renting an apartment and the lease is up on November 15th. We have to be in the house by November 15th or we are going to have to renew our rental lease for another year. If they can’t close by November 15th, do we have the option to back out of the house?
