I ordered his course and I am reading it right now. I like what I have read so far. But that is not much at this time.

Hi,
I was just curious to know if any of you have any experience with Dave Whisnant’s real estate investing course? I think it’s fairly new, but I’m not sure. From what I’ve seen so far, his techniques differ quite a bit from some of the “mainstream gurus.” (Carleton Sheets, etc.) I’ve read a few of his articles and I like the way he thinks. My husband and I are seriously considering purchasing his course, but thought I would check in here before we did so. Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
Tina

I ordered his e-book and I think it was a great book. Very factual, no-nonsense and concise. He is not feeding you some pie in the sky deal that makes no sense to you or anyone else. It is good concrete advice that actually makes a lot of sense. I agree too that he seems to keep ethics in mind and stresses this in his e-book. I would go for it if you are truly new to investing and are not familiar with how to research property ownership, comps, contacting properties, how to target properties, etc. It doesn’t have all that off the wall advanced stuff. The e-book is about finding deals, making them happen, and thinking positive about your new career.

You say Dave Whisnant seems to be quite a bit different than the “mainstream gurus,” but you like the way he thinks.
Please explain why you say that.
Like you - or so I assume - I tend to like the path less followed.
Thank you.

Robert Campbell,
You might just want to take a look at Dave Whisnant’s site. I’m sure you can find it by typing his name into any search engine. You can download his e-book, which is an introduction to his course, and he goes into how he is different from the rest. One of his quotes that I found most interesting was this: “The biggest mistake in investing is to do what everyone else is doing. You can never get ahead if you are doing that, because only a small percentage of people following the herd succeed.”
I like alot of his “ethics” I guess you could say. He stresses everything being legal and you being completely honest with the seller/buyer. I really like the way he sounds, but am still unsure. That is why I posted here. I was hoping someone had heard of him and could give me some insight.
Sincerely,
Tina

Sometimes there’s a reason the path is less traveled.
