If you’re getting the MH for free, this would be a great opportunity, however, if you can’t estimate the costs yourself, chances are you couldn’t do the work yourself, either, so the best source of information would be a contractor.
I have a 94 16x80 that had a leaky roof. After a new roof and a re-roof it still leaked (manufacturer defect where the roof meets the walls). Anyway, I put galvalume 20 year roofing metal on top and it cost me about $1100.
If I were faced with such an opportunity as yours, I’d replace all the lumber that’s damaged with 2x4’s (instead of those 2x2’s) raise the ceiling to 8 feet and do some serious remodling.
Let me put some numbers in my guesstimation software and voila $2460.62 and you pick up the tab for travel and expenses. Seriously, the best thing to do is get an estimate from a local contractor, perhaps a handyman. I did estimate the cost of materials though for repairing 16 feet of damged roof and ceiling and I came up with about $600. To repair the roof and hang the sheetrock you should only be looking at a days labor so maybe you can get a handyman for $20-$30/hour.
