You don’t tell us where you are, however most Secretary of States have an online search function that you can use to see if a particular name is available. If your prior corporation was properly dissolved, then I can’t see why the name wouldn’t be availible for you to “recycle.”
However, I would have second thoughts about this plan if there were any baggage (old debt, disputes, bad will) that the old corporation left behind, as I wouldn’t want to have to spend extra time, money and effort explaining that away. If the old corporation is clearly dead, and there are no intellectual property issues (trademarkss, logos, etc.) then it should be a non-issue.
