Man I hate those pop-ups too!
I downloaded a freebie from www.download.com that is called “Pop-Up Stopper” by Panicware.
Just go to the site, type it in the little search box, make sure you select “Downloads”, then hit the search key.
You’ll wonder how you ever made it without it!

A problem is getting out of hand: POP-UP ADS
Yes, advertising is important, but I’ve had enough of this type of ad.
Can anyone recommend a pop-up blocker that really works?

Toss my hat into the ring as an additional reco for pop-up stopper by panicware. FWIW, I’m an MCSE and my FT job is in IT, so I’ve looked at many solutions to this problem. IMO, popupstopper is the best, because it’s the simplest (hmmm, possible allegorical lesson there?) It’s either on, or off. If it’s on, it kills all popups, period. No guessing, “AI, heuristic decision models” or anything else like that. On/Off.
