I’m a newbie from a south suburb of Chicago looking to start networking as I continue to educate myself (mostly on wholesaling at this point) and begin to farm neighborhoods. I was wondering what Chicago area investors experience has been with the Chicago Creative Investors Association in terms of welcoming new entrepeneurs, making contacts (i.e., RE Lawyers, rehab investors, etc.) and continuing their RE education.

Just to add to what the others have said, check out realestate-invest.com for up to date info. Also has properties to buy/sell.
As far as the meetings go, its very informative and a decent place to network. Alot of it seems to be members from the NW suburbs. Nonetheless those contacts can be helpful also. Actually a few pointed me in the direction of local investors.
I’m also on the SouthWest Side of Chicago, always looking to network.
I’m basically still a newbie myself, I’m very recentlly getting heavily involved in marketing, etc…
I’ve been in touch with others from our area. I’ve met up with a few of them, and we’re also trying to set up a regular lunch/dinner meeting every few weeks or month.
I have a long list of contacts I’m more than willing to share with the right people.
Drop me an e-mail and we’ll go over our objectives.

April Meeting of Chicago Creative Investors Association
As previously announced, the April meeting has been moved to the 4th Sunday
this month, due to Easter being on the 3rd Sunday. Here are the particulars.
CCCIA Meeting: April 27th, 2003 6-9PM
Brown Bag Networking 5PM (optional),
Registration 5:30PM,
Formalized Networking and meeting starts 6PM,
Main Program 7:00PM-9:00PM
Where: College of DuPage, Student Resource Center, Room 2800 425 Fawell
Blvd Glen Ellyn, IL 61037 - park in lot 2. Please come, bring your friends
and family - we now have room for them. For directions look on www.cod.edu
under maps and directions, or look on www.realestate-invest.com. If you try
to use mapquest, you may need to know that Fawell Blvd used to be known as
22nd St until about 3 years ago. Some older maps, and mapquest are not yet
updated.

Its really a great club…I havent been able to go lately but I highly recommend it. The response to the club has been so great that they just moved the location lately because there was no more room for all the new members.
