Carlton Sheets 1 year mentoring course? - Posted by Catherine

I am considering doing the Carlton Sheets Mentoring course. It’s a 1 year course with mentors who guide you thru 6 to 10 deals with in one year to build a net worth of 1 mill. The course costs $4,100.00 and they give you unlimited access to mentors and coaches. Has any one done anything like this? It seems like a lot of money but could be the thing to help me jump start this new venture.

I have read a number of books on Nothing Down and studied the Carlton Sheets course and tapes. I used some of his methods to purchase 40 acres of land this year for personnel use which has also turned out to be a very good investment but now I want to do this for profit . I would like to flipping property and buying rental property. (I am handy and have a contractor to partner with for the right deal) I am also interested in flipping or leasing optioning Mobile Homes. (I should add that I don?t have a lot of cash on hand to play with…) Any input or shared experiences would be helpful.
Thank you.

Catherine

Don’t do it. I did it and I just gave them my money. My first mentor missed a few meetings so they gave me someone else, but I didn’t get to make them up. The next guy they gave me was a super person, but he was late all the time and rushed. It was a total waste. And just in case ANN (America’s Note Network)gives you
a call for the same reason, hang up fast. Those people tracked me down, hounded me for weeks and lied to me. THey almost had me talked into it, but at the last minute when they’re reviewing things, the terms suddenly changed! I told them not to charge my card and I would call them back the next day to confirm. When I did, the person I had dealt with started yelling at me. I had talked to the credit card company the night before and advised them. Finally the person I was dealing with told me they wouldn’t charge my card. But guess what? They did! I filed a protest with my credit card company and they took it off. I would love to get hold of the owner and let him know what they did to me. I learned my lesson. Never again!

I bought the Carlton Sheets course to get started many years ago. A year afterwards I got a call for the mentorship program and since I was so gung-ho to get started I paid the $3,500. It was the biggest waist of money of my life. The “Mentor” I got could barely speak english. It sounded like he was reading from a script, and I received no practical experience. If you want to spend money to learn, get involved in a real estate investment group in your area to drive to one and hook up with an experienced investor and pick his/her brain or ask to follow them around for a fair fee.
Good Luck

We have seen a lot of questions on this. Those who have been through it say don’t buy it. It is an overpriced scam. You probably know more right now than the person who will be mentoring you and you can definitely get better advice on this board free of charge.

Try an archive search (top of page, at the bottom of the introduction) for more details.

To everyone who responded , thanks for saving me a bundle of money. I know the CS tapes and books we’re a good beginning. (I used CS’s techniques to buy 40 acres of land this past year and a friend of mine used it to buy an apartment building. But after spending several hours surfing the CRE web site I can see most of the answers and support network I’m looking for is right here. One just has to be willing to walk the talk.
