Carleton sheets no money down coaching program is a SHAM! They set you up with someone who is a REALLY great CLOSER named Shane Hoffman, and then you end up with a coach with a brain the size of dime. The coach I had Tony M. called from his cell phone on his way somewhere and talked about his family life, he gave me ZILCH coaching in real estate. It is a waste of money and time and anyone else interested in fighting back, I am READY. Let us get together and FIGHT BACK!!!

Has anyone used Carleton Sheets Personal Coaching Service? I know there is a fee and I’m not quite sure how much it is. If you have used it, how helpful did you find the service?

Thanks.

I’ve recently looked into this service as well…Here’s what I’ve found:
2 programs that they talk about, 1st is about $3000 for 6 months worth of personal coaching. You get personal coach, they pretty much tell you what to do, and help you structure deals, supposedly.
2nd option is about $4250, for 13 months. Same help, just longer and they give you extra materials to study. Other things they want you to do is set yourself up with an LLC company to protect yourself, and be able to put in lots of time to do lots of footwork.
Sounds like a lot of cash to me. BTW, Carleton Sheets marketing program is Owned by American Marketing Systems, Inc, Burr Ridge, IL. HUGE marketing company, lots of complaints from the local Better Bus. Bureau.

My wife and I, Jamie, both purchased the coaching service with Carleton Sheets. It is around $400 with no refund possible. You must have at least $3500 in the bank, and since we didn’t they sent us to a notefinder’s course and we were guaranteed at least one note. (A note can bring you a commission of between $1500 to $2000) You are given 45 days to locate people with notes, and if you need an extension then they will allot you the amount of time needed. We have been looking for one note for at least two months now and have not had one possible lead and the notefinder source isn’t giving us any help. We’re still trying and had to spend $150 on 500 possible leads to note holders, but the leads were bogus. ONly one person that we contacted even knew what a note was, but he wasn’t interested in selling his. Now mind you, we also have to pay for the long distant phone calls to be made, and we got into this real estate business to make money, but we are spending money that we don’t have.
My recommendations to you is that I don’t know how the coaching service is, but have at least $3500 on hand plus the $400 for the course. They contacted us, we had no idea about a coaching service. If You don’t have the money and they offer you a notefinder course, hang up in their face. Over all, the tapes we have from the course are good, but my wife and I are trying to save some money before we invest in anything.

See my comments about my experiences with Carlton Sheets Personal Coaching Service posted on February 11, 2003 in response to this very same question.

In a nut shell, keep your money and use it for a downpayment.

When I took the course it cost $3,925.00, now I believe it went up to $4,000.00.

Keep in mind that these coaches are $7.00/hr. Call Center Employees trained to read a script. $3500 to learn from a $7.00/hr. employee makes no sense to me. They know just as much as you about real estate investing…only they have a cheat sheet to look off of with “buzz words” created to impress you. Buyer beware.

Thank you so much for posting this infomation. I was considering the coaching service but the person I talk with did not give me a straight answer on the price involved. I was told that they have several programs that offer different things. The person is to call me back to discuss the Personal Coaching Service but I had made up in my mind that I would not go for the service right now. I had already figure out even before I read this post that the Sheets Personal Coaching Service cost more than I am willing to spend at this time. By the way I have CS home study no money down course. It did not work for me. I and several friends of mine studied it and really got out there looking for the deals but could not find them. I am not saying the CS course is bad it just did not work for me and my friends.

I too had a very bad experience with the coaching service. This was over 5 years ago. The guy who was assigned to me went bankrupt twice. I don’t remember if he owned real estate or not.I would say keep your money. Keep asking questions on this board. Good Luck

It’s very sad to me reading these things. I happended to purchase the Coaching Program 1 year ago, and I’ve been very impressed with the help and knowledge of the Coaches. I’ve now purchased 8 properties, and without the help of the Carleton Coaches, I wouldn’t be where I am today. It is a great program, but only if you work at it. If you are lazy you aren’t going to get anywhere.

Marcus, I’m interested in this course also. How many hours per week did you spend over the first year? Did you have another full-time job during this course? Did you have any real estate knowledge or background before starting this course?

THis course is bull. See the movie “BOING ROOM” w/ ben deasel and ven aftlec and “Jerry Maguager” and you will now what a sell people really are in this century.

They will attack your fellings and wants and get you hiped up then they will robe you like a fool. Whorst is you will give them your credit card number and it becomes legal. WHen you try to cancel, they will give you the run around and try to force you to keep your contract. And if you think Carleton Sheets is with this people… DONT. They sell “rich Dad, Poor Dad” courses too.

JUST DONT GIVE YOUR HARD EARN MONEY TO A BUNCH OF Quacks that will laugh at you in your face and take your money too.

THINK Of YOUR FAMILY FIRST BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT!!!
Do your homework before you lose your money and then cry about it.
