Valerie,
Sometimes all it takes is someone (or something) to tick you off enough to take action!!
I think that 90% of us agree that CS is a great course for beginners…and you could just use it and be successful. I think that we also agree that the $2,500 coaching program is probably not worth the money – a) you could use that money towards a home purchase, or b) you could use that money to buy other courses to help expand your knowledge and education about real estate investing.
Carleton Sheets Coaching Program - Posted by Valerie Woods

Has anyone been contacted by a representative from Carleton Sheets offering you their coaching program?
I went thru a 45 minute discussion over the phone with a rep which was spent explaining the different phases of the program. I was told that this was just an “offer” and choosing not to participate in it would be perfectly fine. Well…I listened to the whole thing and thought it was a good idea to have someone familiar with the course help me over the rough spots. I was all set to go UNTIL the rep told me the price of the program $2,495 UPFRONT !!! It’s a 6 month program where you are assigned a counselor. You have scheduled conference calls every week and the counselor is supposed to aid you in understanding the different concepts in the CS course. By the end of the program you are supposed to have at least one successful real estate transaction. I don’t know about anyone else, but at $2,495, the counselor ought to be living with me. I told the rep, that my husband and I would call him back (to give us time to discuss it). We decided that we would not do the program. We figured we could find support in town and plus, there’s this message board where we can get advice and support from others going through the program and it certainly wouldn’t cost $2,495!
When we contacted the rep and informed him of our plans, he turned into Mr. Hyde, insulting both me and my husband and he reiterated that fact that I had bought the C.S. program 2 years ago and hadn’t done anything with it until now!
I was just curious if anyone else had a similar situation happen to them.
Granted…I’m sometimes hesitant when it comes to doing something that takes me out of my comfort zone. But when I commit to doing it, I do it !! I’m not going to let this negative encounter stop me from studying and applying the concepts from the CS course. Now that I think about it, this
may have thrown some gas on the fire !!!
I’ve had the course about 6 months and also received the letter about this coaching program. I believe it would really help me but don’t have the $2500 needed for this at the moment.
A good friend of mine ordered the course at the same time I did. He decided to fork out the cash and order the coaching program. Well, after 6 months he owns 4 properties now and he credits the coaching program for it. He said the counselor pushed him to stay with it and then would set weekly goals (i.e. “make at least 3 offers by the time we talk next week”). He said the counselor walked through the offers with him, told him which creative options had a better chance of being accepted given the seller’s situation and which were long shots (i.e. avoid the life insurance no money down payment option taught in the course). My buddy was able to get his questions answered and get first hand help and he strongly recommends it. That is why I plan on doing it myself - although I admit the cost is a barrier.

I recd. many such calls. I finally sent a certified letter to C. Sheets saying “I paid money for your books/tapes. Are they so inadequate that I need addl. consulting? Your comments, please.” My letter was ignored, but I also never recd. another soliciting call. This whole scenario made me feel most people must not succeed with the books and tapes.
