There may be a redemption period in Mich. But I am not sure about Mich. laws. If there is none the buyer now owns the house and the previous owner needs to pack and move before the sheriff come to evict. As for you you may approach the new owner to see if they want to sell or find another property.

here is the deal we are in the process of buying a home from a family friend in which he was behind in the mortgage. The home has now went to foreclosure and we are still going to buy it, however someone bought it at auction what do we do now. and what does he (the original owner) need to do? we live in michigan
