I have read that there is an incredible shortage of US dollars in Costa Rica, paired with a big demand by small to medium sized businesses for dollar-denominated loans of 30-180 days, for operating capital, inventory financing, etc. as well as factoring.

The result of these and other factors is that borrowers are paying 6% per month for credit.

Anyone familiar with this scene? Sounds like quite an opportunity, unless I am missing something.

I do know interest rates in CR are obscene. My dad is trying to get a loan on a property he owns there but money is too expensive.
