Today I saw a real sign for a ‘I Buy Houses’ guy. It was on one end of the bus stop enclosure. It was about 4’x 6’ covered in the plexiglass and professional.I have no idea what the cost is, but it is legal and won’t be taken down.

I have thought about this, but havent done anthing on the matter. Actually what I was thinking was, hey why not just buy my own benches (with ads), and put them next to the existing ones. There is probably a good reason to not do that, but I would hard pressed to tell you what that reason is.

E-Z,
I agree, this might be worth checking out, if the price and contract term are not too outrageous.
I have not seen such a thing here.
However, we do have bus bench ads, and the actual buses themselves have ads wrapped all over them with vinyl for various companies.
Usually larger ones, and builders/developers for new home subdivisions.
I’m sure they are not cheap, and frankly, since I cannot personally recall what any particular ad says on any bus, I am not inclined to try them just yet.

If we had the type you mention, I’d surely check it out…a permanent sign along the road, big enough to read, sounds cool by me.
Go for it, and let us know if you use it,
Jim FL

I don’t know your market, but in my neck of the woods, if you’re riding the bus, chances are pretty good you don’t have a house to sell. I would rather spend my marketing dollars in a more focused arena.

If it were that easy, I’m sure there would be 38 benches on every corner.

Interestingly, Jim, over here in Tampa, (not so far from you), one of the bigger players, Marc Associates, has started using the bus ads. It’s the first time I’ve seen an investor use such ads. They are a very successful outfit, they always seem to have about 15-20 houses in inventory at a time. It will be interesting to see if they keep running the ads, which of course will tell me if it is successful or not - I always keep my eyes peeled for what the competition is doing.

Also, the Homevestors franchise here bought a bunch of bus bench ads. I’ve also seen them on TV and billboards, but not consistently. But nothing, and I mean nothing, can take the place of one of the guys cars - a BMW, decked out completely in a Homevestors graphics package (yes, the yellow & black). It’s truly one of the ugliest things I’ve seen in a long time. I don’t know if they’ve bought any houses from it, but it certainly does catch the eye.

It’s targeted at the traffic, not the riders.

Don’t tell me a perfectly good BMW has “UG BUYS UGLY HOUSES” on it?

With the Mr.PotatoHead guy (hugging the ugly house) too?

Wouldn’t those kinds of graphics be better suited for a different kind of vehicle (a cargo van) ? ? ?

To each his own.

He said it was in an enclosure. so I thought that it was aimed at the riders. Just goes to show how often I ride the bus and how much attention I pay to the enclosures.

Yes, that’s exactly what I’m saying. It’s got the UG guy on it (guess that’s their new “branding”… remember the Domino’s ‘Noid’?), and the HOMEVESTORS in black, against the fluorescent yellow background, with the spray-paint-style font that says “We Buy Ugly Houses”… It really is a sight to behold.

Oh, and the business cards have a picture of the car on them, too. Cross-marketing and branding, I suppose.

Bill Vegas uses these Bus stop ads, might want to ask him about it… he posts here on occasion.

LOL, well it’s “sort of” an enclosure. Basically a roof standing on four posts, with the one advertising panel on one of the short sides. As you approach in a car, the ad is on the far side, facing the “interior” of the enclosure, and the oncoming traffic. That’s fine, because it’s empty 95% of the time anyway. The ad panel is normally backlit as well.

THere are towns and areas here in South Florida that have Homevestors panel signs in EVERY SINGLE ONE…not most, but every single one.
