What do you mean by bandit signs?
I’m new at this and I’m looking and listening to the experienced investors around here for good marketing ideas.
thanks

Billboard Messages To Attract Motivated Sellers - Posted by jshel

I’m contracting to put up some billboards to test that marketing medium in my metro area.
I’d like input from others regarding different BillBoard Messages that you have seen or used yourself in BillBoard Campaigns looking for motivated sellers.
I know that there is a national franchise that uses:
“We Buy Ugly Houses”, I don’t buy ugly houses necessarily and I can’t use that anyway, not being part of the franchise.
Thank You In Advance For All of Your Input

JJ,
Remember this, the most attractive word in advertising to people seeing your message, is the word “FREE”.
I’d include that in your message.
Tell folks what you do, and where to get ahold of you for a FREE consult.
Simple, easy to read and remember, that is what a billboard should be, IMHO.
We Buy Houses!
Free consultation.
Call xxx-xxx-xxxx TODAY!!
You really don’t need to be too catchy, and from my experience, the folks I buy from ask all the time, “Are you the WE BUY UGLY HOUSES people?”
When we say, “no”, they usually say something like, “Good, because my house is not UGLY, I just cannot afford to keep it.”
I will give another piece of advice regarding billboards too.
Something I learned then hard way…
Do NOT put a website on the board if you want to take calls and talk to sellers.
I made the mistake of not following the advice of a good friend, and placed my URL on my boards.
Sure, website traffic increased, but not calls by any large number.
I know someone else who uses billboards almost exclusively, and he does not have a URL on his.
He gets decent calls and plenty of deals…just from his bollboards.
Anywa, my two cents, keep the change,
Jim FL

I was thinking of something that played on that. I am not sure how obvious it can be without getting in trouble. Currently, my truck signs, bandit signs, business cards, etc simply say “We Buy Houses”.
We buy unpleasant houses
We buy unattractive houses
Cash for your not so ugly house
I guess its a choice between ‘stop foreclosure’ and ‘cash for your house’ or some varience of either. I don’t really see any cute way to say it and I think I am just going to stick with ‘we buy houses’ for a while.

David,
Good to “See” you on here my friend.
Yes, that friend was you sir.
Should have listened.
Oh well, a few thousand bucks for billboards didn’t hurt too bad.
Thank goodness for bandit signs, they work, with a URL or not.
Take care, and hope all is well with you and yours,
Jim FL
