THanks for the reply. I have several books and courses by Mr. Hicks. I find his books to be very good, because they are very detailed, and give information not only on REI, but on other related business fields.
Hi I am new to this forum and to real estate. I wanted to learn about real estate investing and fliping properties. Could someone please suggest or point me in the right direction about which are the best books and other sources of information that I can start reading and learning from.
I have been going through the archives here on creonline and have done quiet a few searches on the internet for real estate book reviews but I am still unsure about which ones are actually helpfull and practical.
If someone could please help me I would really appriciate it.
One of the best books that I’ve read lately is How To Use Real Estate Options To Control Undervalued Property by Thomas Lucier. It’s right to the point and very thorough.
The two books I recommend are:
“How to create multiple streams of Income” by Peter Conti and David Finkel
and
“Flipping Properties”
By William Bronchick and Robert Dahlstrom

I really like No Money Down by Robert Allen. He’s got some good ideas. There are a bunch of books in the Real Estate section of the book store. I would read 3 or 4 good ones. Stay away from HICKS. His books are a sham. He sounds like a used car salesman. Also, look for information on the internet. Even though you’re looking for flipping properties, you really should learn about lease options. Lease options are a very powerful tool once you learn to use them. I would also look for good ads either fliers, posters or newspaper. If you want to make money at this game, you have to find “inventory”. The only way to do that is to use good ads.

Try a search on posts by Jim Kennedy. He posted an excellent list of REI books here about a month ago. Also check out johntreed.com for REI Gurus’ books and course reviews.
