I would keep the friendship and skip the partnership.

Everyone always feels that their part is more valuable.

If you can do the deals yourself, and don’t need a partner, just pay him by the job and keep the friendship.

Wondering if anyone may have some advice in this area.

The guy that does the work on small to medium jobs and has done a number of them without a problem is my next door neighbor and he and his wife are close friends w/me and mine. They would really like to partner on a deal or two with us. Something like they buy all the materials and supply the labor–we put the deal together. Share the profits and risk 50-50.

I’m more skeptical than my wife that it would all turn to crap w/him feeling he’s doing all the work since he’s swining the hammer. And so it would go south from there. We would both be bringing something to the table and since their friends, I wouldn’t mind sharing some deals here and there.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Hope all are well and have a good Thanksgiving!
