Call up a loan broker and ask them what are the state requirments. They should know. Then, my advice if you really want to learn, work for a lender that pays you a base salary then go to work for a broker. Centex and CitiFinancial is big in TX, may want to give them a call.

Hello,

I would like to know how can I become a loan officer in Texas. I have a Mathematics degree, I’m technology oriented (taught Office 2000 applications) and I could get referrals throught realtors that I know. I don’t have a problem with the learning curve. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you…

I just recently was hired to do home loans and it seems that I am not getting the training that I need to succeed in this business. I don’t know anything about the Mortgage Loan Officer field. Does anyone know where I can go to get books or videos that would help me learn this on my own?
